Welcome To 'The Crazy'
Here it is, people. I have been married for 10 years and have two beautiful babies. Wintertime, I turned 34. I've taken a long hard look in the mirror (both figuratively and literally) and have decided, I no likey what I see staring back at me. I feel older than I should, I'm a fatty fatty two-by-four, I'm stressed, I'm angry and I've veered far faaaar off the path of my dreams. I need a solution, I need to rid myself of what's getting in the way. Therefore, I've given myself a mission:
yoga every day for one year.
Here's what I'm thinking folks: the path to change cannot be all warm glow-y feelings and blissful experiences...there must be real hurdles along the way...especially when you are someone like me, a Mama in her mid thirties, addicted to Vodka and chocolate, with a mouth like a sailor, and raising a family of four on a shoe-string budget, sorting laundry and running from kid's practice to other kid's practice and passing out from exhaustion at 9pm. Whew. I'm thinking let's keep track of what in REALITY these changes are going to look like.
Will said changes be good for inspiration? Perhaps. Good for a laugh at my expense, oh absolutely.
I hope to pull in some great insight from some of my favorite folks, and feed off of their creative juices, and good vibrations. I also hope to share some great poses, meditations, books, videos, tips and ideas I get along the way.
My hope is that all of this will help me heal where I need to, help me grow where I need to, and also help me shrink where I need to before I expose this body to the beach...can I get an amen? ! Sticking to something everyday isn't easy in the midst of chaos, but it's time for a change. Between me, Jesus, Buddha, Oprah (listen, I am not ashamed of my Oprah feelings...I.love.her. end of story.) and Smirnoff...something wonderful is about to begin.
